Two Lea Junior VIIIs in the Schools Head of the River Race.

Jnr-SchoolsHead
For the first time ever the Club had two junior eights in the School’s Head. This race is run over the same distance as the Boat Race with over 400 boats taking part in the biggest Junior Head race in the country. The WJ17 VIII, who won the WNov8+ Pennant at the Women’s Head ten days before, rowed in Girls Championships VIIIs and came a respectable sixth out of 14. The WJ16 VIII, most of the crew competing for the first time on the Tideway, came a remarkable 5th out of 24 and qualified by beating all the other Eastern Region Junior VIIIs for the British Junior Regional Championships in early summer.
