Quintin Head report

With the first eight not racing, the mens second eight flew the flag for the club at Quintin Head coming in 35th overall in a respectable time of 10mm 54s despite undercooking the rate over the first part of the course. They caught and overhauled the London RC second eight but couldn’t quite find the rhythm to break clear. Things to work on there but a decent showing especially with such a short run up.

The club mens 3rd and 4th eights had a battle of their own. This time honours going to Steve’s development squad who took advantage of an illness depleted club squad to pip the 3rd eight by 1 second over the course. Both squads will be spurred on by that result!

The women also fielded two crews, the novice boat having scratched due to concerns about the strong stream. The IM2 crew pipped the IM3 boat by 7 seconds.

The mens and womens first eights will be training on the tideway on Sunday making a very tideway centric weekend for the Lea.
