Recreational

Lea RC is keen to further develop recreational rowing as part of its rowing activities. The recreational squad has its own boats and provides an opportunity for people to participate in the sport whilst not having to go through the rigours of training and competition. Many people who join the group will row once or twice a week, all year round, and once members, who range from 22 to 81, get the rowing habit it makes a big contribution to their cardiovascular fitness. Rowers row in groups of four and two, either sculling or sweep oar rowing, always with a cox to navigate. There are stable single sculling boats available.
